Overall Job Purpose
The Research Co-ordinator is responsible for providing coordination and administrative support for all research processes within the Research Department.
Key Responsibilities
Contracting and Payroll Support
-
Provide administrative support to ensure contracting and payment requests submitted by the Deputy Deans: Research are processed in line with HR audit requirements.

Ensure payments are accurate and processed timeously.

Liaise and collaborate with the National HR Representative to resolve contracting, payroll, and payment-related queries.
Administrative Support
-
Provide administrative support in the implementation and maintenance of research projects.

Create and distribute curated research reports.
Research Administrative Support

Support the Deputy Dean: Research with the organisation of training and onboarding of new academics and Research Associates.

Assist with the planning and rollout of research-related workshops, training sessions, symposiums, and events.

Provide training on the Research Activity Tracking System (RATS) to researchers.

Support the maintenance of the Research Hub and other online research platforms and databases.

Extract and analyse data from online research platforms and databases.

Provide comprehensive support to facilitate the ethical clearance process.

Work with researchers to ensure smooth processing of payment requests using Research Incentive Tracking System (RITS) funds.
Research Travel Co-ordination
-
Coordinate travel for researchers attending local and international conferences, including travel itineraries, car hire, accommodation bookings, and special requirements.

Research, review, and book suitable accommodation for research-related travel.
Minimum Educational Requirements
-
3-Year Diploma (NQF Level 6)
-
Degree (NQF Level 7), preferably in Administration or Project Management
Minimum Work Experience
-
2–3 years’ experience in a supportive Administrative Assistant role.
