  • All SACAP programmes are grounded in psychology and offered across campuses in Cape Town, Durban, Johannesburg, Pretoria, and Online.
  • SACAP is seeking a permanent, full-time Senior Academic Programme Developer to join the Institutional Academic Team. This role reports to the Head of Faculty: Applied Psychology and is responsible for the strategic, innovative, and quality-driven development of SACAP’s academic programmes.

Role Purpose

  • The Senior Academic Programme Developer is accountable for ensuring that SACAP’s academic programmes consistently reflect the highest standards of academic quality, rigour, and relevance.
  • The role includes oversight of the Academic Programme Developer and primary responsibility for curriculum quality assurance, curriculum review and updates, assessment design and implementation, and the management of programme amendment and development processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure academic quality assurance across all assigned programmes

  • Lead curriculum review, updating, and continuous improvement processes

  • Develop and implement effective, compliant assessment practices

  • Oversee curriculum amendment and programme development processes

  • Conduct research into best-practice academic and learning design models

  • Contribute strategically to institutional academic initiatives

  • Support academic governance structures and institutional committees

  • Collaborate with internal and external academic stakeholders to enhance programme quality

Qualifications and Experience

  • Minimum of a Master’s degree in Psychology

  • Proven experience in Academic Leadership within Higher Education

  • Demonstrated experience in learning design and curriculum development for Higher Education


Operating Hours

This is a full-time, permanent position operating as follows:

  • Monday to Thursday: 08:30 – 17:00

  • Friday: 08:30 – 16:00

Due to the nature of the role, flexible working hours may be required where reasonably necessary to fulfil job responsibilities.
